I Am Returning This: Maybelline 24 hr Color Tattoo in Waves of White

Summer Collections time!!

I got lucky and got to snatch this beauty.

Maybelline Color Tattoos in Waves of White is duo chrome white cream eyeshadow. It looks so plain in the jar. It's just white, but when you swatch it you'll see so many colorful dimensions.

These guys are so pigmented! The first time I put this on, I slapped it on with my finger, and it was "woah."

Instead, I put a really thin layer and it gives a very pretty iridescence.

Unfortunately, I'm returning this. I have REALLY oily eyelids and here's my proof. It creased on me! I haven't even left the house yet! I'm sure I can put primer on, and it might last. But what I want in a cream eyeshadow is put it on and go. If i have to put on primer and cream eyeshadow, what's the point? I can just put on primer and powder eyeshadow.

Back to Walmart, we go!

Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya

Ladies, this baby is worth the find!

Why this isn't permanent is beyond me.

Revlon Lip Butter does not need an introduction. There are thousands of reviews about them. The first few I got was Peach Parfait. I used it to it's bitty end. It's gorgeous, but I noticed it gave me a allergic reaction. My lips peel then later it made my lips sore. A huge bummer.

I'm sure it was the glitter that affected the allergic reaction, so I decided to try this sucker. This stuff is creamy and hydrating while punching a ton of color. And Juicy Papaya a coral pinky nude color. Is that too much color description? Swatched on my hand, it looks a sheer coral, but on my lips it's pinky coral.

Is it just me or is there little product in these things?

Me with Revlon Juicy Papaya.

April 2013 Favorites

How has it been already a month?

Didn't I just post a monthly favorites?

Time goes by too fast.

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation: I have been using this every day. This replaced all my Dior and Chanel foundations. The lasting power on this bad boy is unbeatable. If you're wondering, I have NC 20-25 skin and I use 832 'Nude Beige.'
Benefit High Beam: I never really fell in love with this. I hate packaging and the nail polish applicator. The packaging doesn't help when you're in a rush. Other than that it's a great pinky moonstone highlighter. I love mixing it with the CoverGirl Outlast Foundation for a spring look.
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Birthday Suit: One of the very few cream shadows that lasts on my oily eyelids. If you are experiencing creasing, try looking down for a few minutes; that lets the cream shadow dry a bit. The color birthday suit is like the color of my skin with lots of mini glitters. I love it. It's like I have no makeup on, but my eyes are poppin'!
Stila Convertible Color in Peony: I need more colors!!! I shove this on my cheek like no other. I look like a clown, and I don't care. This stuff is gorgeous. A dusty mauve pink that contours my cheek while giving a gorgeous glow. The do fade in time, but it doesn't fade very blotchy or patchy. It's still very pretty. I just need more colors. That's all.
L'oreal Telescopic Shocking Waterproof Mascara The best discover of this month! It actually holds my curl, which never happens! It doesn't smudge, which doesn't happen! This is a really great day time mascara. It makes your lashes look fake. It's THAT lengthening. I can't believe I found a mascara that holds my curl!! :)

Such great stuff this month!

What are your makeup standouts?

Origins Plantscription Anti-aging Concealer

Honestly, I did not expect a lot from this little concealer. Origins is not exactly known for their makeup. But some people are raving about it, and I thought "why not?"

And I'm kind of loving it..

Origins Planscriptions Anti-aging concealer ($17.50) is my on -the-run concealer. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to pop it on my blemishes then blend with my brush quickly. Depending on  how you apply it, it can give a medium to very full effect. I have a lot of acne scarring. What I do is tap the concealer on the icky spot for maximum coverage.

The best part of this concealer is it doesn't feel like concealer. It feels like nothing at all.

But there was some sucky parts. It doesn't have a large color range. There are only 3 colors. I have light/medium and it's dark on me. (NC 20-25). It does have a tiny salmon tone, so try it under your eyes. Sometimes it works on me. It depends how much sleep I have been getting. If you have severe dark circles, it may not work for you. It also doesn't last. I would say within 2-3 hours I would get shiny. This is definitely something suited more for dry to normal skin tones.

I know, it doesn't lasts and the color is wrong, so why do I love it?

Because it looks so natural. When I wear this stuff it never looks like I'm caking stuff up to cover a pimple.

Wet N Wild Megalast in Purty Persimmon

Confession: I'm scared of bold lipsticks.

I think attracts too much attention, but I don't mind it on other people.

I know it's just me, so I'm trying to stretch my limits.

I'm gotta tell you.. The packaging sucks. It feels cheap. It's all clear and black plastic. My biggest gripe is twisting the bullet up and down. It's a little tough to do so. It feels it'll break any time soon, but it's $3. What should I expect, right?

Wet and Wild Megalast in Purty Persimmon is a red orange matte lipstick. I bought Wet N Wild Megalast in Purty Persimmon because I heard it's a dupe for Mac Morange. I don't think this is an exact dupe. Morage is way more orange and brighter. I do like this lipstick more because it feels more wearable than Morange. I love matte anything. I never liked lipgloss. It may be a generational thing because my mom doesn't like them either. She says lipgloss looks like pork oil on my lips! Scarred for life.

I didn't like the color when I first put it on. I was like WOAH! But it's growing on me. I think I can manage..

What do you think?
Yay or nay?

Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation

Oh man, was I pleasantly surprised!!

This is a winner, girls!

Honestly, I am not a fan of Covergirl. They don't bring a lot to the makeup table. I never been wowed with any of their products before. They are also a huge for animal testing. I'm sure I use makeup brands that also test on animals, but Covergirl is a big one. I just avoid them. But, everyone one is raving about this foundation. I have yet to hear a bad review.  So, I bit the bullet.

This is everything I wanted Revlon Colorstay to be. I found Revlon Color stay too thick and oxidized on my skin. Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 foundation is a thinner consistency that gives a matte medium to full coverage foundation. I'm having pimple issues this week. (boo), so along with this foundation I use Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage for that extra coverage. The best part of this stuff is that IT LASTS. I am really amazed. No foundation lasts on me!! Ever! That alone is a winner. I don't need to wear primer when I wear this foundation. Just with the foundation alone, this can lasts up to 6-8 hours before I get shiny.

I love mixing other products with this stuff. Lately, I mix Benefit High Beam with this foundation. It's great because I get best of both worlds. I get a dewey complexion with lasting power!

If you are even slighting thinking about getting this foundation. Get it!

You will not regret it. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Kate Mascara Base

This stuff is really love at first use.

HG dude, HG.

Sigh, I can only get it at Ebay.

Kate is a Japanese drugstore makeup brand that branches off of Kanebo. It's impossible to find in the States! I have a few of their products and love them dearly. I treat them like they're my babies.

Kate Mascara Base is one of their best products. I have stubby, dense, Asian lashes. Only Japanese mascaras can hold my curl. If I want to use any other types of mascara, I rely on this stuff. It's a simple white primer with some black fibers in them. White mascara primers have the tendency to not coat well with black mascara. It can leave white spots or a grey cast. Although this mascara base looks white, it has some translucency, so when you put on the black mascara it doesn't have that kind of effect. The only problem with this mascara is the fibers can sometimes poke your eye. You would have be watch where you are swiping. I do love the fibers though. It  makes my lashes look long.

LOOK AT THAT LENGTH!

And it stays that way all day. You gotta love this stuff.

Dior Capture Totale Foundation Review

I got this as a gift a few days ago, and I like it!

Dior Capture Totale Foundation ($80) This foundation has anti-aging properties. I can't say if the anti-aging stuff works because my skin hasn't hit that stage yet (hopefully never will ;)  )

Packaging: It's a glass bottle that has a pump! Very classy design. It has a silver cap that says Dior on the stop. Inside has the title of the foundation engraved.  The packaging is heavy and bulky. Not at all travel friendly.

What's important is the product. It's a thin watery consistantcy. I would say this is a medium to slightly full coverage. It leaves a dewy finish that makes my skin look so healthy. It feels like moisturizer on the skin and blends really easily. It doesn't feel heavy at all, and it looks like your skin.

The lasting power is longer than I expected it to be. It lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin before I would have blot and powder my skin. With most foundations, I would have to blot and powder in 3-4 hours. This doesn't separate or cake up, which I really appreciate. A lot of foundations have the ability to do that and it's like fixing a separated chocolate ganache sauce. Even when I'm at my most oiliest, it looks like I doused myself with highlighter, which is better than caked up and separated oil/foundation look.

I think the colors run a bit dark. I have shade 20, which is the second to lightest shade and it runs a tad dark on my NC 25 skin.

This may be my foundation for the hot summer months!
I'm been testing out this and Chanel Perfection lumiere to see which one lasts longer. Right now, I'm leaning towards this one!

Lazy 5 products FOTD

Today is one of those rare days when I am too lazy to put on makeup.

Nothing too intricate.

It's the easiest no makeup makeup look that I do way too frequently.

Ignore the bangs. I just got a haircut yesterday, and I don't know how to make it look decent.

March Favorites

March was such a busy month!

April is finally here!

Last Month I have been really into glowy skin with a nude lip.

Chanel Poudre Universelle Compacte: As the weather is getting warmer, my skin is getting oilier. This powder gets the job done. It  doesn't give me coverage but mattifies my skin without getting cakey or looking too powdery.

Sleek Glo in Peach Shimmer: This product was the highlight of this month! Mixing all the colors together gives a really pretty peach blush shimmer (hence the name). But I also love just using the top white strip as really intense highlighter. It reminds me to much of Nars Albatross that I want to get it!

Boots No. 7 Line and Define Lip Liner in Nude:  This sucker is always sold out in Target! I finally got my grubby hands on it, and it really is amazing. It is a dusty pink nude that gives the effect of your lips but butter. A lot of other lipsticks gives a similar look, but it looks artificial.
This really does make your lips but better in such a natural way.  I only got this a month and I'm already halfway through it!

Tarte Clean Slate Flawless 12-Hour Brightening Primer

I have a love hate relationship with Ulta.

I wanted to get Tarte Clean Slate Poreless Primer 12 hour Primer. I have oily skin, so I thought that would be a perfect for me. But Ulta placed the Tarte 12 hour Brightening Primer in both of the slots. When I got home, I found out I got the wrong one, and instead of returning it, I decided to try it.

I must say, it's not bad!

It comes in a really cute packaged tube. It has a bamboo top with flowery print. It is very Tarte-esque design.

It feels very moisturizing. Not at all heavy. It is very light almost watery. It makes my skin feel hydrated. This would feel amazing during the summer time.

When its blended out you can see why it's brightening primer. It has multidimensional pink coloring making your skin glow. It has no shimmer.

The best part of this is it actually lasts. Because of my skin, I don't have high hopes for non-silicone primers. I find they don't last as long as silicone primers do. This primer lasts an extra 2-3 hours longer on my skin than with just foundation on my skin.

I like it a lot. This is the only primer I own right now and I'm not thinking about buying another one.

Maybe I'll get the Poreless Primer to compare.

What do you think?

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Tinted Balm

I bought this months ago. I gave it a good run. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it's not working.

I REALLY wanted to like this product. This is a favorite in Allure magazine and many beauty gurus.

The packaging is very unique. It has this vellum plastic where you can see how much product is in the packaging. The feel of the plastic is really cool. On the other side is a hard shell with their signature burgundy  color.

The product itself is really creamy, practically feels  like a moisturizer. It blends seamlessly on the skin using any tool, but I like it best with a beauty blender.

One reason why I don't like this stuff is really my fault. I bought the wrong color.  It is way too dark for my skin tone. The Beauty Blender is the only way I can really have to sheer it out to make it suitable for my skin tone. I am a NC 20-25 and I have SB03. SB03 is more suitable for someone who is NC 30-35.

In spite of this, the real issue I have is its staying power. It does not last on my skin for more than 2-3 hours. Not many foundations lasts on my skin, but the way this tinted balms looks when the oils accumulate is not flattering.

I really want to try Jouer Matte Moisture Tint next but because of my experience with this, I'm hesitant to buy another tinted moisturizer-like product. I have tried so many, and all with the same result. I wish my skin can cooperate because I love everything about a tinted moisturizer.

One day..
